RYVL ULTRA GT16000 SWR Saltwater Spinning Reel – Silver & Blue
Product Summary
The RYVL ULTRA GT16000 SWR is a premium full CNC aluminium saltwater spinning reel engineered for serious offshore anglers targeting giant trevally, tuna, kingfish, amberjack, reef dwellers and other powerful pelagic and demersal species. Built with a rigid CNC-machined A6061-T6 aluminium body, high-strength bronze gearing and a smooth twin carbon drag system, it delivers exceptional strength, smooth performance and long-term reliability.
The SWR Sealing System features additional upper main shaft sealing to help reduce saltwater intrusion during demanding offshore fishing. The GT16000 SWR combines proven engineering, practical serviceability and outstanding value. Designed in New Zealand.
Key Benefits
Full CNC Aluminium Construction
The body, rotor, side plate and spool are precision CNC-machined from A6061-T6 aluminium, providing outstanding rigidity and accurate gear alignment under heavy offshore loads.
SWR Saltwater Sealing System
Additional sealing around the upper main shaft and other critical areas helps reduce saltwater intrusion during normal offshore use. The reel is saltwater resistant but not designed for submersion.
Smooth Twin Carbon Drag
Delivers smooth start-up with progressive drag pressure up to 30kg, providing excellent control when fighting powerful offshore fish, whether they run deep or stay near the surface.
High-Strength Bronze Gearing
Precision bronze drive and pinion gears provide efficient power transfer, smooth operation and dependable long-term durability.
Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Main Shaft
Designed to handle sustained high drag pressure while maintaining excellent spool alignment and smooth operation.
CNC Power Handle
CNC aluminium power handle with a large ergonomic knob provides excellent grip and increased leverage, even with wet hands or gloves.
Left- or Right-Hand Retrieve
The handle can be installed for either left- or right-hand operation.
Service-Friendly Design
Fully serviceable and designed for straightforward maintenance, helping maximise long-term reliability in harsh saltwater environments.
Technology
SWR Sealing System
Multiple protection points reduce saltwater exposure around critical internal components. Regular rinsing, drying and servicing are still required after saltwater use.
Precision CNC Structure
Full aluminium construction reduces body flex and maintains consistent gear engagement under heavy drag.
Twin Carbon Drag
Provides smooth start-up, stable pressure and improved control during long runs.
Bronze Gear Train
High-strength bronze gears deliver durable and efficient cranking power for heavy offshore fishing.
Manual Bail Operation
Offers reliable, simple engagement preferred by many experienced offshore anglers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Is the GT16000 SWR a full CNC aluminium reel?
Yes. The body, rotor, side plate and spool are precision CNC-machined from A6061-T6 aluminium. This provides greater rigidity and gear alignment under heavy drag than conventional graphite or partially machined reel construction.
2. Is the GT16000 SWR fully waterproof?
The reel uses SWR Salt Water Resistant protection and a waterproof carbon drag system. It is designed for demanding saltwater use, but it should not be treated as an indefinitely submersible reel. Normal rinsing, drying and servicing are still required.
3. Is the GT16000 SWR smooth despite its saltwater protection?
Yes. One of its main design objectives is to combine strong saltwater protection with an exceptionally smooth retrieve. Some heavily sealed reels can feel resistant because of seal pressure and heavy lubrication; the GT16000 SWR is designed to maintain a more refined operating feel.
4. Can the handle be changed between left- and right-hand retrieve?
Yes. The handle can be configured for either left- or right-hand retrieve.
5. How much drag does the GT16000 SWR produce?
The waterproof carbon drag system provides up to 30kg of maximum drag with smooth and progressive pressure.
6. What fishing styles and species is it designed for?
It is suitable for offshore jigging, popping, stickbait fishing and heavy saltwater spinning. Targeted species include kingfish, giant trevally, yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna, amberjack and other powerful offshore species.
7. How often should the reel be serviced?
For regular saltwater use, we recommend rinsing the reel after every trip and carrying out a professional service approximately once a year, or more frequently under heavy use.
8. How does it compare with other premium CNC spinning reels?
Many full CNC or heavily sealed saltwater reels sell in the upper hundreds or above US$1,000. The GT16000 SWR combines full CNC aluminium construction, saltwater-resistant protection, smooth retrieve, reversible handle configuration and 30kg drag at a substantially lower retail price. Current competitor pricing supports positioning this as a high-specification value alternative, not as a budget reel.
9. Are spare parts and servicing available?
Yes. RYVL provides long-term spare parts support and servicing assistance where available. For service enquiries or replacement parts, please contact our Support Team.
